In an extremely bad mood having totalled my less than 12 month old hedge trimmer, I set off for a tour of the Cambridge DIY outlets for a replacement this morning.
Heading West along the A14 I spotted something interesting executing a fast and curving approach to the westerly runway off a left base.
From the distance my first thought was Mosquito. Then realising the stupidity of that I changed it to Meteor. No chance of getting close enough to check I feared this might remain one of those unsolved enigmas.
However, passing the field I was in time to see a Meteor taxi in.
It was Marshall’s ‘family day’.
On the deck I could see a DC3. Doing circuits was a Rapide, presumably Classic Wings.
Anybody know what else turned up?

Was there a fast jet at Marshall’s yesterday around 3pm? I was in Bury St Edmunds at the time and heard a jet which appeared to head off in a Cambridge direction, unfortunately couldn’t get out of the house in time to see what it was.
