I found a small metal plaque about 3 or 4 inches long, about 1 1/2 cm wide, at the site of a Merlin engined Halifax. On the plaque it says: MARTSON HONEYCOMBE RADIATOR JOHN MARSTON LTD WOLVERHAMPTON NO. 39413 I was wondering if this may be from one of the aircraft’s radiators, or is it just off a tractor or something equally mundane. ANy ideas?!!

You post rang a bell. My mother used to work for Marston Radiators. Not sure why I felt compared to share that 😀
Never knew they made aircraft radiators though, I thought they were road vehicles only.

Yes, the oval-shaped Halifax radiators were Marston honeycomb, or tubular type, as were the oil coolers. The later rectangular radiators fitted to the Halifax were the secondary surface type, similar to the Lancaster.
