Aboslutly nothing to do with aircraft but some thing that will prove very intresting and history mnaking.
What could be the last ever dive on the wreck site of the Mary Rose will conclude with the rising of the stem timber of the bow and of the large iron anchor.
The remainder of the timbers and remains left on the wreck site are being securely buried to ensure their safety over the coming years.

OF: mate down in Plymouth they found under the dock and old room full of spare wood for just this sort of ship, that could be a start, the only problem I could see is the age of the wood, in any case, it wouldn’t have to be made of the same stuff, just a replica like the Endeavour we have down here (the original never has a petrol powered motor, but this one does in order to help it along- just in case, besides, Maritime saftey sort of enforced that rule on it)!

I saw that they raised the Anchor today, well done, but can anyone tell me if there are any planes to build a replica of this long lost ship?

I watched this down here in Australia last Sunday night and talk about facinating, glad to see that working conditions in the navy have improved somewhat since then.
It was really interesting to see all the recovered artifacts and likes. Interesting to see the long bows as well- it still amazes me that a person could fire a bow that was over 6″ in length.

I remember our high school English teacher making the class watch the lifting of the Mary Rose live on the BBC in 1982 or 1983 ???
Never realised they’d left some behind…?
