MaxJet Stansted – NY – Stansted

What can I say?

Great flight, comfortable, zero hassle, one extra pretty trolley-dolly and a few less so.

I’d certainly use them again

Work or pleasure trip?

Purely pleasure.

Never been to New York, the trip came up in a charity auction for Essex and Hertfordshire Air Ambulance (Thank you MaxJet for supporting the effort with the donated tickets) so I bid and won.

Probably paid a little over the odds – but who cares? It is a good cause and well worth it.

Mrs Moggy hasn’t had the same opportunities as I for business class travel. On our own money we usually travel ‘Cattle’ class or lower (When not using our private PA22 Executive Transport of course – then we travel as ‘crew’ 😀 ). So it was a great wheeze.

On the subject of MaxJet I was flying out of STN on Wednesday evening (1630) and noticed three B767 of MaxJet down by the FLS Aerospace Hanger. Are they having problems or do they keep them there?

The aircraft were both 767-200s (from the safety card) though the inbound said it was a 767-200 ER and I haven’t a clue what the ‘ER’ stands for.Moggy

Anyone else think it stands for ‘extended range’?:D Work or pleasure trip?

😮 I know. But I can’t really give you much more in the way of detail, it’s not my thing.

The aircraft were both 767-200s (from the safety card) though the inbound said it was a 767-200 ER and I haven’t a clue what the ‘ER’ stands for.

I’ve done hundreds of flights in my time and it was truly unexceptional other than it was so much better than the LoCo that I have spent the last few years hopping around Europe on.

It was so nice to have allocated seats in the first couple of rows (RH side), the lounge at Stansted was fine, we didn’t use the one at JFK.

I do recall a 45 minute taxi at JFK – I’ve done shorter flights than that!

The captain outbound was good on the cabin mike, the captain inbound less so.

Anything else I can add?
