mayday call into Luton tonight

Just heard an a/c calling Mayday into Luton tonight at 2210. Didnt catch the flight number as signal was weak on handheld scanner here in a central london hotel. Heard the mayday call on 129.55 then transferred to 123.55. Anyone got any info?

Correct, and the handling ATCO can then pass you to 121.5 if he sees fit

You can transmit mayday calls on the frequency you are currently tuned into.
