ALL at the Sywell Airshow 26th September 2004 – only a Tenner and its for the air ambulance!
Who’d be up for a Forum only behind the scenes – up close and personal viewing?! Especially with a P-51 you havent seen for five years….well except Damian!
(Sorry to mention again – we REALLY want it to go well!)
Cheers All
Ben

Latest Gen (and this is not confirmed!) Is that the spitfire is unavailable as it has been sold, the Hurri is U/S and the paperwork has not caught up with the Buchon…
So a replacement Hurri is coming from DX and Hopefully one, if not two TRIX Spits…..

Sounds like a great day out, I’d certainly be interested. I need to get over to Sywell anyway, make some Cub enquiries… 😉

Can sort out a bit of a tour of the (‘my’) Museum -Yak11 kindly popped up for a visit recently but i missed ‘im – its not much but its ours….
Will have to organise Ladies Creche for Yak11 and Johns’ Missussses……
I thought the museum was very good and would recommend it to anyone who may feel like being in the area.
As for a Ladies Creche, that sounds like a very good idea, I think Sarah would probably like it to be the Bar though!!!

Great Guys! Thanks for your support – most of the kit will be at Sywell the day before and there is BBQ for pilots and helper types that evening 😉 just hope the weather’s good – well, hope, I’m blooming PRAYING for good weather….
Hope the Buchon can come, think the last time we had one here was in 1969 when they filmed part of the BoB film here….35th anniversary fact fans…
A bit closer to the time I will try and find us a meeting point and will blag a behind the wire visit – nothing poncy like a tour of the aircraft – i wouldnt presume to…. – hell you probably know more about them than i do! The Cat boys will open their aircraft up I’m sure (they seem like really nice fellas ) in fact they contacted me through this forum and we booked em!!! and Hopefully Phil will be whizzing up in something interesting too…
But you’ll get some good photos, maybe if i ask the owners nicely (and they dont mind) a sit in Susy MAY be in order if the numbers are reasonable (Thats G-SUSY) not an accomodating Aviator Hotel barmaid…

If anyone fancies being a bit bonkers, you get a free programme (ooooh! – its really good quality though…) if you wear 40s dress, thats in the forties style, not an actual forties dress mind, you may be ejected by security otherwise 🙂

BTW – Yak11 we whizzed some (free) NOS Mustang bits to Mr Hammond last year – I spoke to Leah over email a while back and she said you hadnt received them – we gave them to Dale at Anglia Flight to pass on, p’raps you should chase – i hope they’re useful they came in a bunch of T-6 Spares – know you’re doing a rebuild, thought they might help….also put some of the Gransden posters up for you in the Museum/Sywell – good luck with that… BB

Wanna bet I’ve not seen it?????
I’m still hoping to make it over, there is something in the back of my mind however that seems to think that I have had other plans made for me that weekend!!! Maybe I’ll drag her along as well.

The Buchon would be flying now if it was up to us (ie: it’s almost certainly fliable) – an often quoted comment at Breighton is that the paperwork matches the aircraft kg for kg…! That’s about as much help as I can be at the moment. I know that they guys are cracking on with things as best they can, the Hurricane has developed a small coolant leak which is a minor distraction too.

Sounds good to me! (although are you really expecting the ‘109 to make it? 🙁 )
I remember before legends that the word on the street was if Buchon isn’t ready for then it will definately be ready for biggin hill. And that is the 18th & 19th Sept. Hmmmm. 🙁 🙁 i guess it’s down to all that paperwork yet again. no doubt everyone is working as hard as possible at RACo. 🙂 🙂
Fellow Breighton reporter Davski, are you with us old boy? if so, is there any heads up on said bird?
