Evening,
I was watching it the other day and it was up to the bit when they had 2 engines left, So why didn’t they land at an emergency landing strip, like Woodbridge or anywhere really, there were plenty of other airfields around. So why land at their homebase further inland?
Sorry for being a bit of a Anorak. 😮

Of coarse, even the ride along film crew during the real missions were a pain in the a$$. IIRC, one went as far as suggesting that the pilot fly closer to those little black puffs in the sky so he could film them better!!!

‘Belle’ completed her 25 missions from Bassingbourne. She landed there safely upon completion of that 25th mission without the damage indicated in the film loosely based on the original documentary. Enough of the true story was changed to ‘sex’ it up a little without adding a spurious landing as well.
