Attached is the layout for the three volume system for the early Bristol Hercules engines. It can be seen that the Section covering tools is:-

Volume II, Part 3, Section 1, Chapter 1 – Tools & Equipment.

Re:- 36DD/ that is the Section that covers all Merlins, some Part No.s have a “D” or “HB” prefix.

No “36 DD” in the Merlin parts manual that I have.

Not always easy to find overhaul tools. I have a Vol. 3 for the early Hercules and the only tools listed are Flight Tool Kits.

Does anybody have a breakdown of the 3 Volume and 6 Volume AP System giving contents?

Beau, it’s not unusual to find all the special tools listed in the engine’s AP Vol 1.
