Thanks to the enthusiasm of the Merlins Over Malta team at the DX event in May this year, I have booked a family holiday on Malta to coincide with the event next September.
Although there is still a year to go and it is still a month too early to book flights……
Is anyone else planning to go? What say we have a Forum meet at a few of the Islands events?
The photos attached are of BR108 in the Museum in Valetta and of EN199 at Takali, whilst under rebuild.
The meatbox was also taken at Takali in 1956, by my Father in Law whilst he was doing National Service.
I may be able to book apartments and flights for Forum Members, provided I am given enough time.
I am really looking forward to seeing the Spitfire and Hurricane flying over Valetta Harbour amongst other places.
Hopefully Glenn Denney will be able to give us an update in the near future.

Although I guess that I’ll eventually have to tell her that our Maltese holiday also involves an airshow… 😉
It also gives me the perfect opportunity to bump this one up and ask the Merlins Over Malta team whether they’re doing another Merlins day at Duxford this year…?

The weekend of 24/25 Sept is when the Malta International airshow takes place. The official commemorations will take place a few days either side of the weekend.

I’m tentatively planning on going, but will be unlikely to know for sure until the new year. Do we know the exact dates…?
