All people are welcomed on this forum and can give their opinion on aviation topic, there’s no problem. but there’s some rules to respect and problems to avoid.
A simple rule is : don’t try to compare two airplanes or helicopters. I know this is temptfull. Everybody wants to know who is/was the better between the Spitfire and 109, F-16 and Mig-29, PAF and IAF…
The trouble with this kind of topics is
– 1 This is totally unuseful. Why? because comparing only the technic and performances of two airplanes is insufficient.
We know since WWI and the fight between Sopwith Camels and Fokker Dr1 that air war depend from a huge number of factors including pilots skills, ground support etc. More, some factors are totally unpredictible before the war (remember Mirage III Vs SeaHarrier during Falkland War?) evenb if two airplanes are similar.
That’s why its hard to say if Mirage 2000 is better than F-16 comparing Pakistan air force and Indian air force.
– 2 Everybody is proud of his country (particularly French and Americans :p. don’t bash me I’m French so…) and this biased totally the thread.
– 3 The problem of thruth (my truth is better than yours) can also totally biase threads. It’s hard to admit thruth by another people which contradict my own thruth…
