Metal finishing, but not av related.

I have two Faber-Castell TK-matic pencils, bought in 1979.

I assumed (and we all know about that) that they were made from stainless.

Got one engraved to hand to talented daughter. Aargh. Brass but plated.

My guess is that it is a brushed Chrome or Nickel finish. I have emailed various companies located through Google, but none have replied.

Spending £90+ for a diy kit seems silly.

There is a circumferential brushed effect.

Anybody like to recommend a good plater?

the old plate will probably have to be stripped first !! if in the uk give “midas ” a shout they do decorative chrome plating for show motorcycles so are used to all manner of components !!
