Meteor Display 13th March

Hi All,

Just spent a pleasant morning watching a Meteor doing circuits and bumps with the occasional low pass.

I was working on the outskirts of Chalgrove, Oxfordshire and both Martin Baker T.7s were sunning themselves on the flight line.

One in a nice dark blue/black scheme and one in a smart silver with dayglo tips/tail.

If you are in the area today make any excuse and park up at the monument to have a free view of the Meteor cavortings.

Regards
Ross

uh

Yeah I guessed, but Martin Bakers a business, so handles the cost? Surely not our penny pinching MOD?

So we have a business that uses RAF aircraft, am I right?

yeah

I read that. They have got another in store, the silver one is still flying. And that all over black looks ridiculous on the Meteor.

How come they are still RAF registered?

There’s an excellent article on the Meteor in this month’s Aeroplane if you can get hold of a copy, including some stuff about the MB test beds.Apparently they’re hoping to keep them going for another 15-20 years! 🙂

Hi,

The black aircraft was flying.

I did not see the silver one fly but it was fully rigged and sitting on the pan in front of the hangar doors (closed), ground generator nearby with the canopy slid back.
