Meteor near Hastings

Having been very impressed with the results of the Vampire in Ferndown and the Torbay Museum Chipmunk threads, here’s another challange.

In the early 1990’s, I remember seeing what I recall as a Meteor mounted on some species of pole outside a car dealership on the outskirts of Hastings.

2 points for identity, 4 for current location and 7 for pics.

No particular reason, just curious (and don’t have Wrecks and Relics yet)

In the days when OFMC was seriously considering restoring a Meteor F.8 to fly, they acquired the engines and undercarriage from this aircraft.

Well OFMC had a Meteor F8 up at scampton but its now with HHA like most of the OFMC jets, however its not going to fly again as it has to much corrosion on the airframe.

WK914 is the serial number of the HHA Meteor.

The Meteor T.7 WL345 was in 2000 at St Leonard’s Motors (NOT to be confused with St Leonard’s Garage elsewhere in the town), Churchward Road, Hollington, E.Sussex, having moved there from Hastings.
