Meteor NF14 at Tengah in 1961 with a strange serial nos.

Here’s one from RAF Tengah Singapore in 1961. It’s a Meteor NF14, still in 60 Sqn markings, they had just gone over to Javelins then.
Looking however like someone still loves her-they had bothered to cover up her cockpit and engines although probably now grounded.
But why that strange ‘FEAF 110’ serial?

Here is a photo of Meteor NF14 WS787 acting as gate guardian at RAF Tengah in the latter half of 1963, when I was stationed there with the Air Survey Liaison Staff on the JARIC section. Its fate was apparently met on the fire dump at Gan. How would this have been possible, unless disassembled at Tengah and taken there in a Beverley?

Have just seen a photo of the NF14 on the gate at Tengah. Mid-60s is the best guess on a date. It displays the original serial, WS787, instead of the the FEAF/110 number, but all other markings are identical to the aircraft in the photo in the first post.

I think this is WS787/G which, IIRC, flew the last Meteor NF14 operational sortie on 60 Sqn.

It was struck off charge 1.9.61 and then put on display just inside the main gate at Tengah carrying the correct serial. I certainly remember seeing it in 67/68 when I was there.

The FEAF serial is interesting. Does anyone know if there were other instances of its use? Presumably, it’s a local variation on the ‘M’ series.
