Meteor NF14 for Malta?

I have heard a rumour that the recently restored Meteor NF 14 WS774 is destined for the Malta Air Museum at Ta Kali.

Anyone heard anything to confirm or deny it?

Well just goes to show you can’t believe everything you get told 🙁 Even when it comes from the ‘horses mouth’ so to speak.
Obviously not WS760 then

Congatulations to the Malta Museum for bagging these two for their collection. I visited here back in 2002 and found it a real ‘home from home’ as a UK enthusiast. Looks like a return visit ( to coincide with the superb airshow) is in order!

Two Meteors for Malta Aviaiton Museum

Parts of the two meteors T7 WL360 and NF14 WS774 have already arrived at Malta Aviation Museum. The fuselages and other section are expected to arrive in the coming week so that assembly of WS774 can begin soon.

Malta Aviaiton Museum houses an interesting collection of 15 aircraft comprising of Spitfire Mk IX, Hurricane IIA, Fair Swordfish (skeleton), DH Tigermoth, Le Pou Du Ciel, Fiat G91 R, 2 DC3s, Beech C45, Hawker Sea Hawk, DH Vampire, DH Sea Vennon, Cessna Birddog, Lightning Cockpit Section, BAC 1-11 Cockpit section and now a meteor NF14 and Meteor T7.

This museum is located on the former RAF Ta’ Kali airfield, between Mosta and Rabat on the sunny island of Malta. The museum is definitely worth a visit. It is growing at a very fast rate and a forth big hangar is planned to be build soon.

Keep up to date with all latest developments taking place at Malta Aviation Museum on their regularly updated website www.maltaaviationmuseum.com

Meteors to Malta

As previously identified Meteor T7 WL360 left in the past week for Malta, accompanying on its journey will be NF14 WS760, also a previous member of the Meteor Flight collection, how much of this has departed is unclear as the centre fuse was still at Yatesbury at the weekend.

A colleague of mine visited over the weekend and had the above confirmed, also as part of a general tidy up it would appear a center section and rear fuse/boom are to be collected by a scrappy today.

Regards

I have heard strong rumours of Meteor NF.14 and possibly T.7 as well heading to Malta. Certainly a former Hal Far FAA Meteor would be a nice addition to the collection.
