…they are, but some of the single seaters (F.4 nearest) are wearing the late war/immediate post-war roundel type, the nearest T.7 is wearing the later standard post-war roundel

The roundels on the line-up of `-boxes` aren`t even standard…

Looks lovely!
Hi,looks absolutly fabulous they’ve done a superb job with it,just a shame about the code letters. Can’t wait to see it in the air sometime in the future. Regards David.

Thanks Pagen01.
Looks like the magazine article is slightly wrong then with regard to the FMK-O instead of Q, although from the picture I mentioned previously and the one you’ve posted here it does seem fairly likely that the starboard side markings are indeed wrongly placed.
Happy to be corrected though, and it’s still a cracking looking aircraft.

The mag probably ran with a spelling mistake, post #25 of this thread shows that FMK Q was always intended, http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?t=108080
I get what you’re saying about the code presentation, my understanding was that the codes were written as say FMK:)Q on the port side and Q:)FMK on the stb’d as in the pic attached. ie they read correct one way around but not the other, which I understand was to do with tidyness of the letter distribution on each side of the fuselage.
However I don’t want to enter into another paint debate on a fantastic restoration, it could be they have info which I don’t.

Lovely to see the aircraft painted, but I have a couple of questions if I may.
Far be it for me to criticise anything about this wonderful aircraft but I was referring to an article in ‘Jets’ magazine from March this year about WA591, where it’s stated that:
‘When it emerges from the paintshop WA591 will be resplendent in the FMK-O markings she wore at RAF Driffield in November 1950’.
Clearly those marking are FMK-Q in the picture so that’s a little confusing. Is there a reason for this or is the article just printed wrongly?
I also notice in the same magazine that from pictures of meteors in flight the letters FMK on the starboard side are placed ahead of the roundel, with the single letter to the rear of the roundel.
The pictures shown on this thread have the FMK to the rear of the roundel and the Q to the front on the starboard side, which again is a bit confusing and conflicts with what I’m seeing from the magazine.
I’m probably being too picky, and for that I apologize but it does seem a little odd. Can anyone clarify why this is?

Superb! Spot on! Thanks for posting those Phil, I have been waiting patiently. As soon as the wings are fitted, does anyone know if and when it will go to Coventry, or perhaps kept at Kemble?

Absolutely stunning, thanks for these.
Really looking forward to seeing this on the airshow circuit, and hopefully at Dx sometime! 🙂
