Ah so im not the only one who gets hacked off

Im starting to find this forum abit of a bore now and its doing nothing good for my future career

Im going to view only and post when necessary from now on

I think this thread has now achieved its purpose

I must admit I was frustrated and annoyed when I saw what had transpired after my first post, when a simple email or PM would have avoided it all.

I can’t understand how offering to be of help, and confirming something in my local area ends up in being branded a know it all. I think firing quick ill thought insults, to other forum members who they do not know, is not acceptable.

Yes, and also good at inflaming XH668 and the Sea Vixen (which we arn’t allowed to mention anymore!) thread which went horribly wrong.
I don’t mind argument if there is a good reason for it.

I only had a little sly blast from him sunday with his “western Toyland” insulting remark,

No not really, but as I live a few minutes from it I think It would haved saved a lot of needless confrontation, I had said a few days earlier it was fine having recently seen it.

Yes it is still there, about 5 mins drive from where I live.

It provides occasional use for the Fire Brigade who have to rescue occasional oiks from the local estate who somehow manage to climb on it and cant get down 🙂

My post was merely to see if anybody had any hard facts on the info i heard (and not an exercise in getting my own post ‘score’ up another notch). It was merely one sentence and yet i’m accused of starting something ? Fair enough, if you guys are that touchy, i shall refrain from bringing such matters to this forum in future……. 😡

I had not heard anything with regards to the Meteor, I even did a bit of my own investigation through various contacts within the area and they all confirmed that the Meteor is still on the pole and is likely to stay there for some time to come.

If I hear of any future private sales, I will let you all know.

Sorry if I seemed to come across all “Know all” it was not intended,
I was just letting you know she had not been scrapped, and safe to say she is still complete and loved,I wasnt having a Go at Anyone,
especailly you XM692 , Honest, it was quite funny though , i phoned the garage looking to find out where the scrap went, and he sounded like he got in a right panic, but he did see the funny side , and then told me the story about the famous family antique , and that its well cared for,
Please XM692 dont take offence , It was never intended, as we all know written text has no emotion so it is easy to get cross wired, 😀
I am just happy she is safe , 🙂

Just phoned the Garage, and he cant believe what i told him about the forum, !!,
WL345 is safe and well, She was NEVER offered for sale, and has Not been scrapped,
she is a Family antique that has been handed down, the man who started the garage actually flew her in service , this is why she was bought when sold for scrap in 1962 and mounted outside his Garage.
So hence to say with a relief (PHEW) she is well cared for and will never be sold and is a real piece of family history for the owner,
I hope this clears this little lot up , ;):D
