It’s a very long term project but it’s in safe hands and will one day be a lasting tribute to Bomber Command and hopefully mirror the excellent USAAF Control tower projects in Norfolk. Just love to see stuff like this happening! Well done to all! I know from personal experience that a Nissen hut alone is a lot of work, without the rest of the buildings and site clearance etc etc.
Didn’t know about this project, so I’ll be doing some digging now.

Work on the actual tower hasn’t started yet but the first building on the site, the restored Fire tender shelter is now complete. The airfield Signal square has been reinstated and windsock erected. It’s a big project and several hundred tons worth of airfield rubble has been removed to allow the project to progress.
