Mexican Navy is looking for jetfigthers

In a recent conference with the MEXICAN CONGRESS the secretary of the MEXICAN Navy AD. MARCO ANTONIO PEYROT saids that the MEXICAN NAVY has became to evaluate 2 diferent aircraft for its NAVY to protect the oilrigs in the CAMPECHE SOUND and soudern MEXICO,Only 8 aircraft will be purchase. This evaluation has been a surprise for all the aviation fans in MEXICO because the 2 aircraft that are under evaluation are the SAAB GRIPEN and the SUKHOI SU-27 FLANKER and it seems that the SU-27 its the favorite for the MEXICAN NAVY and he saids that these aircraft will be in MEXICO by the end of 2006 but not especificating wich one, but alot of speculation this news has create, for instance, the MEXICAN NAVY couldnt purchase 8 AERO L-39 ALBATROZ for ligth atack in 2001 because the congress reduce its budget so this has led alot of thougs.
The MEXICAN NAVY has a great friendship with SWEDEN has it has purchase over 60 DH-90 fast patrol boats and several BOFORS MK3 main guns for its frigates and corvettes.
In the other hand with RUSSIA its the same thing as it has purchase 23 MIL-17 helicopters, 4 MI-2, 55 URAL trucks, several SAM-7 estrella antiaircraft missiles and has put a workshop in LAS BAJADAS naval base for MIL helos maintenance.

Peyrot saids that the NAVY will also purchase a not known number of helicopters and truks, 2 other missile corvetes from ISRAEL but be also mention another AAmissile purchase.

so well see what hapends and my question is, WHAT THE HELL ITS THE MEXICAN AIR FORCE DOING IN THESE MATTER?
