Mid Summer at Stansted – 20th June 2007

Hi all,

Following on from Dan’s thread yesterday, this was the view from Stansted’s 23 approach on the 20th June – a lovely, bright evening with plenty of sun right up until sunset. Click on an image for a full size copy at 1024 wide.

Great photo’s from STN. The Fed-Ex and UPS are great. Super light on each one. Nice selection of traffic at STN, which I never realised.

Thanks

Hi all, thanks for the feedback.

Yes, I was hoping for a couple of GWI and NAX logojets myself, nevermind (the Dubrovnik MD-83 on the NAX service was good enough!).

Dan and PMN, hope the weather improves for you next week – the forecast isn’t looking too great!

I’d heard that “the trees” location next to the training school/fire dump is open again, good to see some shots from there Dan. Although aren’t you limited to shooting through the fence?

Adam

Do you mean the real old-school spot, to the right of the fire training centre, which was fenced off atleast 3 years ago? I haven’t looked round there for ages!

The spot I was in is just infront of the fire training aircraft, to the left of the centre, and yes squeezing through a gap in the fence.

Hi all, thanks for the feedback.

Excellent work mate, shame I didn’t know you were around! Coulda met up otherwise. Was quite an impressive evening in terms of movements, shame that the Germanwings loogjets stayed away though. The UPS is still just in the Sun for your shot cos it was up high….from where I was standing it was about a minute too late!

Excellent work, Adam! The lighting on the FedEx MD-11 is just perfect. If the conditions are like that next week when I’m down there with Wannabe Pilot I’ll be happy!
