Middleton-St.-George Airhow 2013?

According to the local news, the managers of MSG (I refuse to use the modern excresence of a title for the airfield) are thinking of holding an airshow there next June, no doubt to increase revenues.

On Look North last night they said that, although one of the backers had pulled out, money wasn’t the only reason for cancelling and they hoped to put on the show next year – so fingers crossed!

The airshow has been cancelled unfortunately. Seemingly they needed £65000 to run it and were only able to get about half of that. Any lottery winners out there?

Thats a shame, I have many happy memories of Teeside Airshow in the 70’s when I lived up there – the only place I have ever seen a Lightning fly.

I hope this goes ahead. Happy memories of the excellent shows that we’re held at the then, Teesside Airport in the early 1970s.

Yes, and before,

Would be nice to see another local show. The costs may prove a stumbling block, was looking forward to the Portsmouth Air Festival this year as the folks down that way but that hit a few issues.

The former Middleton St.George is now called Durham Tees Valley Airport.

Kirmington is now called Humberside Airport.

Both were once Royal Air Force stations.
