Midland air museum best day to visit

Hi

I am thinking of having a visit to the Midland Air Museum in the next couple of weeks so can anyone recommend the best day to visit ?

If I go on a Saturday will their be anything flying out of the airport and can you get good photos of anything flying from the airport from the museum site ?

Thanks

Was there today, not many visitors but about a dozen volunteers working on various projects. MAM is a compact museum but has a wealth of exhibits and worth an hour or so looking around. The “staff” are very helpful and will talk your boots off, especially if you buy the coffees in the excellent little cafe they have (they make good sandwiches as well 😉 ).

Actually went down there to see WF922, one of only two PR.3 Canberras left. If you go, a Tuesday is usually best, ask for Malcolm the Canberra guy.

Couple of pics to whet your interest. The flying beast (whatever it is  ) did some circuits but mosty it’s GA stuff.

It is a quiet museum, but rather good (I can see it from my office window!).

Luck of the draw with the Airport – sometimes Air Atlantique are flying all the time, but recently they’ve been very quiet (DC3’s and 6’s used to be constant).

Last time I was in the museum, it was pouring with rain so I’ve no idea on views from there (and as I live under the Base/Finals turn I tend not to worry!).

I went there on a Sunday in May as I was passing. The museum was quiet but you could have a look inside the Vulcan. You cannot see much from the museum but if you drive out the exit turning left, there are places on the verge opposite the Air Atlantic hangers and ramp. Also you are near the runway threshold. Mostly trainers in the circuit but did see one or two airliners.
