MiG-21, F-4. F-5, Mirage III/V post 2020?

It’s amazing to think we will probably still have MiG-21, F-4. F-5, and Mirage III/V in service post-2020. That’s the equivalent of Wright Flyers still being in service in 1963.

Remember 2021 is only 8 years away!

From what I can see these jets wll survive in the following air forces who mainly don’t have a propensity to throw anything away or who are too poor to buy anything new or who simply have other priorities:

F-4
Egypt (F-4E)
Iran (F-4D/E, RF-4E)

F-5
Botswana – CF-5A/D
Brazil – F-5E/F
Honduras – F-5E/F
Iran – F-5B/E/F
Mexico
Morocco – possibly F-5E/F
Spain – possibly SF-5M (LIFT) if economy doesn’t approve.
Thailand – F-5T

Mirage III/V
Egypt – Mirage V
Pakistan – Mirage III/V

Then there’s also Kfirs (Sri Lanka, Ecuador, Colombia) and Cheetah (Ecuador). Ecuador and Colombia have just received top up batches.

MiG-21
Angola
Cuba
Croatia (possibly)
Egypt – including MiG-21MF and possibly MiG-21PFM!
Ethiopia
North Korea – also possibly MiG-21PFM.
Syria (if it’s air force still exists)
Vietnam
Yemen

Most of these would be MiG-21bis and MiG-21UM models but some older jets may survive in North Korea and Ehypt – both don’t throw anything out until its completely unairworthy.

I wouldn’t rule out India still operating MiG-21bison then either.

Then there’s several J-7 operators that will still fly J-7s by then, but this isn’t so surprising as the last J-7s rumbled off the production line in 2013!

The continued service of really old birds ala F-4D, early 1970s F-4E, F-5 Freedom Fighters and older pre “bis” MiG-21s is amazing now, let alone in post-2020 period.
