Latest AFM issue states that SiCG have created new hybrid MiG-21 by enabling MiG-21bis to perform MiG-21R reconnaissance tasks. Designation of new version is MiG-21bisR and modification has been accomplished purely with domestic knowledge and resources.
Same article states that all MIG-29A and UB are at the end of their flight resources and to keep them flying they will need to be inspected by the Russian specialists.

Now in the light of recent spy affair it is quite possible that SiCG will, by the end of the year, be without any “modern” fighters – interceptors and that backbone of their fighter force will be “prehistoric” MiG-21bis .Who knows maybe this accelerate lease or most likely donation of some western aircrafts.
