I’d be happy with just the instrument panels 🙂

Hi, it’s in the workshop at the moment having a custom chassis built as I got fed up with the agricultural trailer it was balanced on before. A cursory search of my computer reveals only the attached photo. It certainly looks like mine, though I couldn’t swear to it.

Looks great. The MiG 21 enquiry is for a third party, so i’m not buying, but that said I would love a chance to get hold of a whole MiG 15 or 17.
Has anyone seen one? Any condition….
Cheers
If you look back not to far we did have a discussion regarding the Top gear programme on an airfield .The airfield was full of Mig 15,Mig17,Mig 19 and the odd 21 I think but as has already been said the same place is hard to get to its hard to work with the locals.Half of whom seem to wear funny black coats with bulges smoke odd cigarretes and may take your money give you nothing and you could find yourself on a flight home .I think that Bruce knows what I mean we have had similar experiences in the ex eastern block. And beyond !!!

Lovely things these – I’d have one at that sort of price I must say, but as Fox says above, its not just the purchase price.

I paid around £2,500 for mine if memory serves a few years back. I don’t know if this is representative of today or even yesterday’s value.

MiG21PFM -(might be wrong im going from memory)
I think i worked it out at about £2500 to £3500 per nose.
Qty 30 where available, plus 3 simulators. Condition of airframes good, complete with engines etc. Stored well.
Price per airframe was very good.
Shipping costs are the killer probably looking at £2000+ per container. Plus all the faffing with Customs etc. Additional costs involved as well, ie flights, hotels, paying the locals to do the chopping and hacking. All in a country that doesnt have the best of reputations.
Toyed with the idea of scrapping the majority on site, moving two sims and four or five noses …but the cost per “unit” was still toooooo high for me, especially with no guarantee of sale, potential customs problems, storage this end.
Conclusion was …. “dont go there”…
