Can anybody point me in the direction of good quality reference material and photographs regarding the following Mig recce variants: ie, Mig 15R, Mig17R, Mig 19R and Mig 21R. I need info on development, service history, recce suites carried and any other relevant details.

I’ve got Putnam’s MiG Aircraft Since 1937 which was co-written by Bill Gunston & Yefim Gordon. I’ll p.m. you some scanned pages as examples so you can decide whether to buy or not.

Does anyone have a copy of any book dealing with the Mig 15, 17, 19, 21? I need some advice as to whether a particular publication deals comprehensively with the R (Reconnaissance) variant. I’m happy to buy of course, but don’t want to order blind and find that there’s no info on the recce version.

Yefm Gordon has written a number of detailed monographs on the various MiG types. They should contain what you are looking for. You can usually get them via Amazon – or, perhaps your library may be able to help.
