MiG, Sukhoi, & Yakovlev

I got to thinking recently about the current status of both the MiG and Sukhoi design bureaus.

What exactly are they doing these days? I mean how many orders are on the table for the MiG-29 and Su-30?

You often hear about F-16 orders it seems and every now and then you’ll hear about a new fighter like the Gripen getting an order or something like that, but what about the Fulcrum and Flanker?

I’d say it’s easy to see that the majority of people on this forum would rather see Fulcrums and Flankers get new orders, and they are always talking about how cheap these two fighter types are.

So can someone update me on current orders for both MiG and Sukhoi? How much longer will the production lines remain open?

What about the Yak-130 program? What has happened to it? Is anyone even interested in the export version? Seems like all you hear about is the Hawk getting new orders.

Russia isn’t even buying anything right now are they?
