Mildenhall Airshow

I rang the ‘Public affairs’ office to find out about the situation regarding future airshow’s at Mildenhall, interestingly She said:

“The airshow has never actually been cancelled, it has just not be re-established after 2001”

She went onto say, “Although it is a possibility, there are no current plans however, to re-establish the airshow” (a slight contradiction?)

When I asked if this was due to security concerns all I got was “There are no plans to re-establish the airshow”

It’s obviously partly down to money. If so, why not just push the ticket price up to a RIAT level? They would still attract countless thousands of visitors. Global Operational commitments are also probably a factor too.
