Mildenhall Line up 2000

Sorting through some paperwork, I happened upon this. The Flying display for the Saturday at Mildenhall 2000.
Where apart from maybe at Fairford, would you get a line up like this today ? Also sad to think that a lot of those aircraft
have been scrapped, or are languishing in a field somewhere, rotting away.

That’ll have me going through my Mildenhall photos for that year, I know I have some photos of the B-52, B-2 & Swedish AF C-130 I have a feeling I may have missed the start of the display as I was on the train over from Manchester and even the first of the day didn’t get you there for the start.

It shouldn’t take long to figure out.

If anyone has any older flying display line ups, feel free to add them.

Hi All,
It’s easy to forget when marvelling at the B-2 today it has been in service for just over 20yrs and they have already retired the Nighthawks.

I do miss Mildenhall. I did a ten year stint there between 1985 and 1995. I used to stay there for the week and do the arrivals days etc, one show day on the perimeter and one day inside the show. Stayed at a B&B called the “White House” on Beck Row if I recall correctly. Always a great mix of aircraft to see, and the weather usually played ball most of the years I went. And all those Polish dogs, burgers and cold Bud too….yum!

I stopped going when all the participants became mostly 50 shades of grey and F-16 shaped!

….Well, I think one of the Falcons “bombed” one of our burger vans at Weston only a few years back. So they must be still around somewhere.

Must have got a bit peckish on the way down! :dev2:

Btw what happened to the Falcons. Haven’t seen them and the 130 for decades.

I seem to recall one Fairford in the 90’s when there were 6 or 7 display teams in the line up. It was one year where temps went into the 90’s!

Great memories! Those 20 years or so at the end of the last century(!!!) of Mildenhall Air Fetes were never to be missed.:eagerness:
