Military Applications of Plasma Technologies

There is a book called Scope and Challanges in Plasma Science and Technology, and this book has a part “Plasma Applications in Aeronautics”, here is the some points:

-Microwave absorption of plasma layers (so called “plasma stealth”)
-Schok wave mitigation by plasma
-Aerothermal alleviation by plasma torch at high speed
-Drug reduction on subsonic and supersonic speed

As far as I know these applications have been researched by Russia, USA and India (about drug reduction). Beside Keldysh claims there is no useable products up until now. Probably in the future these technics will change lots of thing in aerospace industry.

And there is also futuristic weapon research made by USA, this thing called “plasma bullet” a kind of Directed Energy Weapon can achieve speeds 3000-10000km/sec intended to hit balistic missile warhead, but the project details are highly classified.
