(Maybe not historic aviation related in a strict way. But, it may be on the fringe?)
I don’t know why, but suddenly I came to think of all the military aviation related comics I have read – keenly, with gusto – as a youngster.
I have some very hazy memories of e.g. a Belgian jet pilot flying F-104’s, Jet Provost and a lot of other mounts. No air combat (?) but very dramatic stories nevertheless
A combat aviation series taking place in The Middle East, targets being Cold War era T-72 MBTs, rebels? And with a more sinister ‘tone’ to it, more ‘gray hats’ than white hats and black hats?
Anyone recognizing the above?
One caractor I remember fairly well is ‘Battler Britton’. (Wing Commander Robert “Battler” Hereward Britton)
I haven’t read any issue for decades but I’m pretty sure that it was all simple black hats/white hats storylines and that one of the most used, German words was ‘Achtung!’
What was/is your favorite read?
Take care
