Military encounters with UFO's

Are there any stories of military encounters with UFO’s? I’ve heard of a few events but there might be more. Here is what I read somewhere once, I can’t remember where:

In the early 80’s the Red Army detected a large object that looked like a cigar flying at a slow speed. Several jets were sent up. The jets located the object, and followed it. Then the jets began firing their cannons at it, which caused it to increase its speed and fly lower, and the jets were unable to follow it. The object headed toward the city of Krasnojarsk and a helicopter was sent up. The helicopter opened fire but could not damage it, then the object increased its altitude and speed so that the helicopter could not follow it. Then it disappeared.

In another instance, much earlier (1960’s I think) a large disc-shaped object appeared over new sam batteries which were just being installed. The sam commander ordered to fire and fired a salvo of missiles at the UFO, which exploded near it but did not appear to do any damage to it. Then, a bunch of smaller UFO’s came through a door out of the big UFO. The commander gave the order to fire again, but the missiles wouldn’t work, and they soon realized that everything electronic on the entire missile base was not working. Then the small UFO’s went back into the big UFO, and the big UFO left, and then the electronics/radars started working again but the UFO could not be detected anywhere.

Any more information about these incidents or any others?
