Hi All,
I’ve been told the old Minolta 75-300mm Beer Can lens will fit and work without any problems onto my Sony Alpha 200 body, is this correct? The reason I ask is my Sony body has 8 contacts whereas the Minolta lens only has five (going off pictures on ebay).
I’m after one as my Sigma 70-300 DG APO lens broke and as these lens’s have problems I’ve decided not to get it repaired and go for a more robust ‘metal’ lens.
Does anyone have one stored away that is available?

It will fit but if the contacts are not the same, then it can only be used in manual only.

I use the lenses from my old Minolta Dynax 3000i on my Sony Alpha 100 without problems. Saved me a lot of money when i went digital!!

eBay Beer Can
So, it looks as though no one could help… As it happens I’ve just been successful in obtaining a large beer can lens off eBay for £82 🙂 So time will tell if it’s as good as they say!
