Before developing the F1, Dassault had made an atempt with a bigger strike fighter, the Mirage F2. Powered by a TF-30 with 9000kgp of thrust, it flew on 12th june 1966. At the time, the AdA realized she needed an interceptor so a single seat was started, the F3 but abandoned in favor of the F1.
The F3 never flew, but what about the F2? I heard that the prototype had been in the CEAT in Toulouse (thanks Vega ECM).
Anyone know more about this rumor?
