Mirage III

As far as I know, there are only three countries that still operate the orginal Mirage III. They are Brazil, Argentina, and Pakistan. I am not talking about the Mirage 5 or Mirage 50, so don’t mention them. I am just referring to the original Mirage III. Can anyone tell me who would have the most capable aircraft currently. I would assume it would be Brazil or Argentina, but I am not sure which of those two would be better. Also, can anyone tell me about the MAA-1 Piranha IR-guided AAM that is used by Brazil’s Mirage III’s (and other aircraft such as the idigenous ALX…no I don’t mean AMX, I mean ALX)? I have seen a few photos of it but I don’t know its capabilities. Do the Mirage III’s in service now carry the AM.39 Exocet or AS.30L missiles? What about bomb types and stuff. Are the BAP and BAT bomb packs still used. What about the fuel tank/rocket pod packs that were discussed on this forum a few weeks ago. I am just starting this to get some up-to-date info on the Mirage III and how it is doing so to speak, nowadays. Thanks.

Hi members

First of all as a new member, I’d like to introduce myself

I live in France near Toulouse, I’m a Flight test air traffic controler; former military ATC in the Army Aviation.

I’m also a flight gear collector, and started to gather some MIII instruments.

I’m planning to restaure a M IIIB or C front panel. I have almost all the instruments except few items that I’m still looking for and which are listed below:
– Failure display panel type 986-5
– the panel itself.
– Square warning button “Train non sorti”/ undercarriage not down (?)
– 2 fuse-jettison panel.

If any member living in a Mirage III-country-user could help !!!

Cheers

check with the guys at savigny les beaunes, there is a club or association maintening the A/C collection and they must have a good number of spare parts, may be instruments for mirage III.
good luck
