Missile fired at AI jet

A missile was fired at a AI flight from Nairobi to Mumbai while flying over Somalia. Heres the report….

re france -what about the croalat (spelling) thing
and india hads something from israel on its ships (some sort of SAM) it begings with a B but i can’t remember what its called.

nope, israeli is a modified patriot in avionics and control sytems I believe, that and hawk, rapier wont go anywhere near that height and france dont have any as far as I’m aware, and anything china has is russian and prob near a generation behind if its in somali hands.

acording to the atricle a missile reaching 33,000 feet out of anarchy-ville somalia – give over. a manpad (a hand held SAM) can’t go that high. a proper battery could but in that anrachy place ??? doubt it.

is this a hoax ???

Very strange the pilot kept it to himself and then back in Bombay reported to the Indian Government. “Proper channels” no doubt and ofcourse you dont have to inform the pax, but not informing ATC or the other other traffic around doesnt seem to make much sense to me.

Well may be for a change Indian Government will make its findings public. After all to give praise where it is due, the Alliance Air Crash at Patna, the full report was put in the web .
Earlier Indian Accident Reports were virtually inaccesible.
