Missing Posts

On the thread, “Where would you like to emigrate to?”, I recently posted a response to a comment by Serendib.

In my e-mail inbox a couple of days later, I received a message that Serendib had replied to my post. When I checked to see what he had said, guess what?…no response can be found. I sent another message to him, requesting him to respond personally to my e-mail address, but to date have received nothing from him.

The point is, though, do individual replies often get deleted, either by the Webmaster or the poster (In fact, can you as a member of the forum, post a message, then later, retrieve and delete it?

I can only assume that the forum sends an automatic message to your e-mail address, advising you of posts added to a thread after your own post, but that if you don’t get to it quickly, it can be removed before you get to see it. Am I correct?
