Missing threads…

Can anyone from Key tell us what caused several forum threads to vanish, and how soon these can be restored from backups? While the long PAK-FA thread had a high signal-to-noise ratio, it contained some useful information.

Thanks for the information Frank.

That explains why I was banned indefinetly and then a few days later reactivated. Good to hear you guys are on top of things anyway. 🙂

Regarding TF-X beeing “too small a programme to justify a thread”. I don’t think you realy do understand how important and what kind of impact this program realy is for Turkish defence industry. How much it ALREADY is affecting and will influence Turkish politics and industry in the future. It is at the same level, if not more, than the Gripen program was for Sweden. But I do agree with you about Bayar beeing a bit overenthusiastic. 🙂 Anyway time will tell how TF-X turns out.

My TF-X threads are always disappearing…

Thanks God for that..

I then get an email purporting to be Site Moderators threatening to ban me for advertising Turkish Aerospace Industries. I thought this was odd because there are many threads on Pak-Fa, KF-X, Dassault Mirage, Saab Gripen…

It’s just because of that – uncritical advertising.. No one is interested in that here..

Mercurius,

Yes, one account with higher privileges has been hacked last week. They managed to ban several members, as well as mess with the threads. The issue has been resolved, accounts have been reactivated, and threads should be back. If not, PM me.

Bayar,

When someone makes a thread solely with pictures from sales brochures, and minimal text, without engaging in discussions, it is advertising. And such threads will be deleted. Key Publishing pays for these forums to exist, but it doesn’t exist to offer free ads. For that, they have a marketing department, where advertisers can turn to. It is a commercial company, you know.
The alternative is that such posts get zapped, and normally, the poster gets banned right away. Just so you know.
All I’m asking is to keeps things tidy and keep all the news regarding turkish aerospace developments in one thread. Facts are ok, nationalism isn’t. And if a plane is actually flying and justifies a thread, then no problem.
As of now, the TF-X is a paper plane, and too small a programme to justify a thread. We must try to keep thing a little tidy. Sorry.

I think Mod accounts have been hacked.

Same for me (perhaps because I’ve been half way banned?) Looks like Turkish fighter project has gone. Could be wrong. Haven’t checked previous pages.

Hackers: need their egos cut down / need to be cut off at the knees (old English gangster expression).

And the quote option on replies went away, at least for me.

I don’t use chrome anyway.
There was several threads deleted due to the Hack of Moderator Account.
Which also lead to many members getting banned.

Did anyone else experience the ‘Urgent Chrome Update Virus’ as a result?
