dark light

mixed afternoon at MAN

dodging the rain and snatching the opportunites offered by the few precious blasts of sunlight.

Photography at MAN this time of year is about the ancient black art of watching the clouds slide past and guessing when the gaps in the clouds will pass under the sun….if you are lucky it will co-incide with aircraft movements !! 🙂

EDIT: I just noticed – the Airsouthwest plane taking off 24L is the same one i photographed landing earlier (according to the EXIF data – just 45 mins earlier). Thats a quick turnaround isnt it?

45 minutes is quite a short turnaround for a Dash8 – given Ryanair can turn around a 189pax plane in 20 mins!

Excuse my lack of aircraft knowledge, but if you mean the first one with winglets (pic 018), then it is G-ELNX and has “Citelynx.com” on the side.

The head on shot (pic 020) is the same “Lufthansa Regional” that appears side on in the next picture (pic 022).

Appols for being such a duffer about A/C types – I just like photographing them if they catch my eye ! 🙂

I used to regularly go to airshows, so am more mugged-up on military types, but never took too deep an interest in differing commercial types. I just spend a lot of time at MAN because it is so close to my home and i have been scanning and watching and photographing the aircraft movements since i was a kid.

Regards

Michael

PS thanks all for the kind comments about the pics – cheers
