I have a good friend who works for them, they have been told that they must report for work even if they sit idle, something in the pipeline, rumour is the arabs may bail them out (if they haven’t already). Watch this space I guess

MK was officailly put up for sale yesterday, seven 747’s and three DC-8’s. There are re-financing talks ongoing, but in the meantime, in the event that the talks are not successfull, the administrator has advertised the company for sale.

Oh dear, not good news at all.
I wonder what impact this will have on Kent International Airport, as MK were one of (if not the) largest cargo operator out of MSE???
It was hoped that if cargo airlines managed to increase the profile of the airport, it might encourage other airlines to consider offering passenger services from there, but so far there has only been seasonal charter services since the failure of EUJet, which was almost three years ago (that long ago, how time flies!)…:(

Didnt know Milton Keynes had there own airline:o
Joke aside, does higher fuel costs effect cargo airlines more or less then passenger carries who customers feel the pinch in there pocket first?
Good one CAL, actually the initials of the boss!
The 742 seems to be any early casuality of the fuel crisis due to the shorter range in comparison with the 744.
