I have recently acquired what I think is a MK I boost gauge, however there are no military markings on it, nor does it say boost on the dial, but everything else about it looks right.
Here is a photo of it, & also a picture of a MK Ia Boost guage.
Can anyone tell me if this is what I believe it to be “or not”, & if there are any more of them about ?

Photo of Bristol Bulldog I from 1929 shows what looks like your boost gauge here :

Given that AP 1275 1930 clearly identifies the Mk1A as shown in your B&W photograph then it seems you have a pre Mk 1A boost gauge shown in situ in a Doggy in 1929, so I guess it’s Mk I.
If you trace your Hawker panel then I will tell you where I think some more of them will be !

I am not sure but could this be a Mk 1?
I think this one looks more like a MK 2 boost gauge, rather that a MK 1.

Hi Snoopy
It is a bit difficult to pin down exactly which type it is, as there seem to be no clear photo’s of the MK I about.
My one was made by Negretti Zambra, who were well known for making gauges for aircraft etc.
The only MK Ia I have seen in the flesh, is the one in the Fury, but I think that one may be an external replica, with modern internals ?.

Bob,
Well, the housing certainly looks the same. Looking at the graphics on yours I’d place it 1934 – 37, although it was clearly using a much earlier platform, but perhaps adapted and recalibrated for a supercharged motor. Never seen either one of these however….!
