I didn’t realise she was due for a repaint.

Anyway, looking very tasty in a 126 Squadron scheme (ML214, Sqd Ldr Johnny Plagis)
More pictures on the BBMF Facebook page.
Cheers

It’s looking like it’s going to be a long job.
I think so too. I am confident in saying that the end result will be satisfying for the team and pleasant for us punters though.

Sad the silver’s gone, it was a great colour scheme, probably my favourite Spit paint scheme to be honest. But looking up and seeing a Spit of any colour in the sky over Yorkshire is a rare treat!
Likewise over Oxfordshire. The sound of large piston engines is always sufficient to have me out the door in a hurry for a look, unfortunately always without my binos and camera.

I am surprised Tony that your interest was not drawn to what is behind the spinner tip?

Lovely scheme. They have just weighed her too!
Seeing any Spit, Hurri, Lanc, P51 etc airborne is a treat to me!
I can remember the weighing of the old QF Wessex at Boscombe

I would have thought putting her in genuine Canadian 443 Squadron markings for a significant year in the commemoration of D-Day would have been a straightforward choice!

Having no strong feelings about paint schemes, unlike many members here, I too liked the silver, mainly because it was unusual and differentiated it easily form the rest of the stable. No doubt BBMF has good reason for the change.

Preferred the silver, now it’s just another boring camo Spit

Looks good if a bit “typical”. Other than the rather odd application of invasion stripes anyway. Historically accurate I presume?
Seems so – the BBMF like to get things right
