Does anyone have a nice clear close up photograph showing radiator armour fitted to the MkIV Hurricane?
Alternatively, is there a photograph showing this in the book “Knights of the Skies: Armour Protection for British Fighting Aeroplanes” by Michael C. Fox?
A very nice MkIV photo in the post below seems to suggest that the armour could be field installed/removed?
I ran accross this photo of what I believe is a MkIV.
Another photo in the same post below shows a couple of tabs next to the radiator which further suggests the armour could be field installed/removed?
By coincidence, we were at ‘Thinktank’ in Birmingham to have a look at their Spitfire IX and Hurricane IV.
Hope these photo’s help!
(Sorry, don’t know how to take you directly to a post within a thread)
Thanks for your help.

It turns out one of our local libraries had a copy of “Knights of the Skies”. Unfortunately it doesn’t have any photo’s showing the armour protection around the radiator.
I do recall seeing a photo of a Hurricane with the cowlings off and the armour protection on the side of the engine, but I cannot recall what reference this was. Don’t know if it has shots of the radiator too.
If anyone has a close up photo of the MkIV Radiator Armour that would be most interesting.
Thanks for the help,
