MME-LHR-MME

Had a days spotting at LHR yesterday courtesy of airmiles and BMI.Only the tax of £38 to pay so a good deal all round.I checked in at MME at 05.30 and was given seat 5a,just behind the business class curtain on A320 G-MIDV. I was hoping for a A319 but never mind.We were off chocks at 6.50 and took off on runway 23 on the usual route,Gasko-Ribel-Croft-MCT-WCO-BOV-LHR.We cruised at FL270 in very stable air and were served a hot pannini of sausage and cheese(!) once in the cruise.We started our descent abeam Birmingham and were held at Bovingdon twice around the hold before heading towards London city before turning right onto the ILS for 27right.The flight time was 47 minutes.

After a good days spotting we were called at 19.30 for the return flight to MME. This time I was in seat 7a on A320 G-MIDZ still in the old scheme.We were off chocks at 19.55 and taxied to 27right behind a BMI 321 and a Emirates 777.After a short hold we were airborne at 20.13 on a Burnham SID climbing through some cloud layers for about 5 minutes before levelling off at FL260.We were served a turkey and cranberry sandwich en route and after a bumpy descent we landed at MME at 20.56.All in all a good day out.
