Most airlines say to turn off your mobile when on an aircraft. The mojority of passengers respect this but there are always some who feel they know better ! I had a classic example of this today.Operated POP-LGW MYT 080 this morning,on final approach all of a sudden the Flight Deck performed a Go Around for no apparent reason ? The aircraft was fully established on the lociliser and all of a sudden the ILS went mental totally deviating from the runway heading. As i said a Go Around was executed and we landed fine on the second attempt. It turns out that some idiot had turned on his mobile phone and while it was searching for a signal had totally trashed the aircrafts ILS hold.Just shows how one persons stupidity could lead to a potentialy leathal situation !

Motorola V8160 😉
Its only advantage is size. It doesn’t have polyphonic ringtones or color display. My brother’s phone has these kinds of things, but don’t see much use in them. Like Steve said:
I manage to press buttons, talk, and a voice talks back to me. Sometimes it even knows who I am.

I have a Nokia 3310. I think. Much like dhfan and snapper, I manage to press buttons, talk, and a voice talks back to me. Sometimes it even knows who I am.

Stone-age Motorola and a Nokia 3410.
Motorola’s better. Phones are getting smaller but I haven’t noticed the distance between my mouth and my ear shrinking.
I make (and receive) phone calls with them.
To take pictures I use a camera.
To browse the internet I use a computer.

I have some Nokia thing after putting my alcatel through a 60 degree was. It’s amazing – you can press these buttons and talk to somebody miles away!

The Nokia 9290 is the PDA/phone that Id really like to get. It has full internet browsing, not just a text only clipped format. You can send emails with attachments and has all the programs that synchronize with windows apps like word and accel. I really the like idea of a large screen and full keyboard instead of pumping away at a numpad to send messages. Sony Ericsson makes the p800 which has all these software features but is the size of a normal cellphone. With a bluetooth folding full size keyboard I think I could really like that one also.

For me Nokia 7210… A phone with a bunch of totally useless things like color display, FM radio, Wap, MMS, … But the cheapest Nokia I could find with a decent connector for a car kit.
The 3xxx series have some kind of 3,5 jack connectors… Very good if you want to break it in less than one week.
So… I went for the “cheapest” Oh yes, it is also triband, which is something i appreciate.

i got a 3410 as well and i don’t really think there is any point in a phone with a camera (colour screen would be ok) because it is mainly even more to go wrong

Perhaps I’m missing the point but…why does everyone want a phone that can take a photo of your ear?

Sony J70.

I’ve got a few since I used to work in the industry and have just started back in it.
On hand I have
Nokia 5110
Nokia 2110
Nokia 3810
Ericsson T-20
And Seimens M 35
Out of them all the M 345 is the best. I’m looking at buying either a new Motorola or a new Seiemns as those are the most reliable on the market. In my shop we haven’t gotten any of those back fro repairs yet, where as the Nokia’s come back two days after they leave the shop with Programing errors and the S/E’s have trouble with their technology interface.
The worst thing they did was make phones with interchangeable parts, so many problems and all for now reason.
