MOD disposal sales

Can anyone here explain the current system used to dispose of this countrys surplus mil gear?? Many years ago it was open and fair. You viewed the kit on offer then went to the auction and bid.
Now its not like that, one company has the contract and anything that collecters who may read this forum may want to buy goes into a black hole! Why??
There are many people interested in ejection seats previously this stuff appeared reasonably often, not now.
How can i purchase a 10A para container/head box from the good old US of A for $24.95 when the various rumour mongers here say M-B say it all has to be destroyed?
What is going on?

Its no different here in Oz… at least you guys get a chance to bid or buy the gear. Australian Govt decrees majority of it has to be destroyed. Helmets, Suits, G-suits, Gloves etc. Occasionally there is an electronics Auction but you have to be one of the favored few to even get a notice that its going to be held.
