Model Aircraft

This is propbably a stupid question, but do any of you collect, model aircraft. I have a collection of over 30, ranging from the plastic push together kits, to the Corgi classic jetliners range.

If you do collect I would like to here about which models you have.

Thanx for your time.;-)

RE: Model Aircraft

I only started collecting this year but i have,

Thai 747
Monarch A320
BA 744
BA Concord
BMI A330

I find the best place to get them (if you are local like me 🙂 or if you are just passing through) is the aviation shop on top of the T1 car park at MAN. They have a large supply. Also FlightDeck near MAN is pretty good as well.

I am buying more but running out of money.

p.s. Does anybody know if there is a BAE 146 available and in what liveries?

Regards

MIK€

I think anybody who has an interest in aircraft will have at least one model somewhere!

RE: Model Aircraft

Both Wooster and LongProsper/flighminiatures make the GoFly 737. I suggest the LongProsper as it is better quality. If you want any plastic or metal model, this site generally has them, of all types:

www.airplanesuperstore.com

You can also get direct from the Longprosper/flightminiatures website:

www.flightminiatures.com

The first place is based in Washington’s Dulles airport (IAD). If any of you are in Washington saying hi to George Bush, or something, you should check it out.

GD1

P.S. No, I’m not getting paid for any of these advertisements. 😉 Just trying to help out a fellow collector.

RE: Model Aircraft

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-07-02 AT 06:12 PM (GMT)]Kabir, even though models are not sold where you live, you still have a pretty good collection, for example I think you are lucky to have a model of a Gulf Air and Austrian a/c, which I have found quite hard to find in shops here, and by hard, I mean I have yet to find any!

I have a huge model of a Korean Air B744, made of wood, with a plastic coating over the top, which my dad has hung up in the back garden. Looked good at first, but it has been badly weathered whislt it has been out there. 🙁

RE: Model Aircraft

Preston,

yep a local Leeds lad, recently moved to Cleckheaton from Wetherby which makes those early morning jaunts to MAN a bit easier.
Are you local to Leeds?
Any other list members from West Yorkshire/Yorkshire? (all you Teesiders don’t count!)
Sorry if this is digressing/should go on the general topic list.

Regards,
Carl
