model (scale) engines

I am a lover of fine engineering be it on a regular scale or miniture, preferably the latter!.

the sheer skill and devotion these folk put into building (working) scale engines is fenominal, there is one chap that stands out to me the most ‘Barry Hares’ although the engines he produced back in the 80’s were outstanding, there are companies making stock blanks of 1/4 scale engines today.

If i had the milling machines and lathes i would like to try make something like this, but it really is beyond my skill level. these guys are masters of our universe.

are there members of this site that do this sort of thing?
