Modification?

Hi Guys

I have a spitfire drawing and there is a item that has a note “not required when mod No.spitfire/375 is incorporated”
Could anyone tell me what this mod was and when it was made?

Many thanks for any help.

Mark and Edgar.

I am constantly amazed at just how quick you guys are at coming up with answers!
Edgar. It is the spitfire brake system I am looking at so the change of relay valve fits very well. Thank you very much for the info. Mark. Very sorry. I should have said it was a mod to the brake system but again, thank you very much for responding.

There were two modifications numbered 375; for the Seafire it’s as “Mark 12” says, but, on the Spitfire, it’s “To provide new type of Dunlop brake relay valve A.H. 10233” and was “Class 4B” on the Mk.II & V.
On the Spitfire mod 1372 was the equivalent to 375 on the Seafire, and was for the Coffman starter on the Spitfire 22 & 24.

Mod 375 is associated with Assembly Number 56 and is a class 2 modification for the Starter System for the Seafire Mk XV.

It reads:-

T.I. Of Combined Coffman Starter & Breech.
