Well,
I’ve had my brand new digicamera all of thirty hours now and I finally got to point it at a passing aircraft on my way home from work this evening.
It has to be said, I’ve seen better. 😉 I don’t think Damien will be having too many sleepless nights for fear his role as Flypast Forum pic-maker in chief is threatened
Main problem was the pilot didn’t give me a lot of time to thumb through the manual, so I was never able to figure out which of the multitude of buttons and controls would give me aperture priority exposure control, so the speed worked out at about 1/4 second and even with my superb panning abilities……
Apologies if this would seem to be on the wrong forum, but I really don’t feel at home in the Airforces, paraffin-burning one. All my chums are here.
I’ll try and make it something with a prop next time.
Initial impressions. 35mm beats digi for a duffer like me.

No
We got talking about this and that, then when I told them how my friend Damien was so kind to his old parents in Baghdad they seemed to lose interest and remember an important appointment elsewhere.
Odd that I thought.

unfuzzy button
Gee, that must be what the photoshop “unfuzzy” button was for…
Peace thru superior firepower….
We’ll be seeing more of those profiles and more on the telly this weekend…

AND ANOTHER THING!
Damien you bounder!
Now your secret is out.
You don’t actually take pictures at all. You just steal other peoples artistic efforts and tinker about with them in Photoshop 7 then claim them as your own.
If you look at Damien’s ‘picture’, you will notice that the peanut-butter stain on the left lapel of the pilot is identical to the one in my pic. You just did a bit of sharpening and tinkered about with the colour.
Admit you cad!
😡 😡 😡 😡

Actually I’ve had the US military police round during the night.
You are not supposed to have seen the revolutionary new ACM ability of the latest F15s which my reportage shot has unfortunately revealed to the world.
We just have to hope that Sadam is too busy to log on today as usual.

Damien,
I think I prefer the abstract quality of Moggy’s shot – it is more aesthetically pleasing and conveys the urgency of the moment in a way your more ‘solid’ shot fails to.
And his is going backwards!!:D 😀

Moggy… I wouldn’t worry. The old saying… practise makes perfect. Good luck mate. 🙂
And Damien… lol 😀

SUPERB!
Deep rich saturated sky, real feeling of speed and movement, and a great silhouette with bursts of coloured light. Make a good avatar that would.

Ha ha ha Moggy……let’s face it…you’re just an old duffer like me! 😀
It’s quite touching, this thread – reminds me of some codger going up to the pros with his first morsel.
You’re right mate – you’re with friends here. With any luck this will be the first post of many gently ribbing your photographing skills.
Good luck with your new toy – you’re a generation ahead of me!
